Medicare may reimburse for drugs that meet the following conditions:
(i) Drugs contained in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China (current edition).
(ii) Drugs that comply with the standards promulgated by the State Drug Administration; and
(c) Commodities officially imported with the approval of the State Drug Administration; and
Instead, the following medicines cannot be included in the basic medical insurance drug coverage:
(i) Medicines that are primarily nutritional and tonic.
(ii) Partially medicinal animals and animal organs, dried (water) fruits.
(iii) All types of alcohol preparations made from Chinese herbs and Chinese herbal medicines.
(iv) Fruit-flavored preparations and oral effervescent preparations of all types of medicines.
(e) Blood products and protein products (except for special indications and first aid and rescue).
(f) Other medicines that are not paid for by the basic medical insurance fund as stipulated by the labor security administrative departments at or above the provincial level.
