What causes thrombocytopenia due to diabetes?

There is a relationship between low platelets and taking diabetes medications. There are three common conditions that cause thrombocytopenia:

① Decreased platelet production, which is common in blood diseases such as aplastic anemia and acute leukemia, as well as after the application of certain chemotherapeutic drugs, when it is often accompanied by anemia and leukopenia;

(ii) Excessive platelet destruction, most of which is of unknown cause, some of which is secondary to autoimmune diseases and after the application of certain drugs;

(iii) Abnormal platelet distribution, commonly seen in splenomegaly, etc. It is recommended to check and confirm the diagnosis and then treat the symptoms.
